This message is for 1L/2LE/2L/3Le students.

We are excited to announce that Cleveland-Marshall College of Law has become a member of the Institute for the Future of Law Practice (IFLP) for the 2019–20 academic year. IFLP partners with law schools and legal employers to train the next generation of lawyers on modern practice skills and build a talent pipeline for the future.

IFLP provides training for law students, via a 3-week hands-on boot camp in May, on disciplines that complement traditional law school curriculum, including business operations, technology, data, project management, and design thinking. It pairs this training with paid internships at which students can put into practice what they learned in the boot camp. Internship employers comprise all sectors of the legal industry: corporate legal departments, law firms and legal services providers, legal tech companies, and public service organizations.

Current 1Ls and 2Ls are eligible to participate in IFLP’s boot camp and internship program. You can learn more about this innovative opportunity and how to apply through the attached information sheet and at FutureLawPractice.org/apply. The online application opened on September 16 and will close on November 30.

We are enthusiastic that our students will be participating in this unique opportunity. If you would like more information, please contact the Office of Career Strategy and Employment, and watch for an information session to be held in October!
