The Steiger Fellowship is designed to place law students in Offices of Attorneys General across the United States. Selected students, serving eight to 10 weeks during the summer of 2020, will have an extraordinary opportunity to gain valuable experience in the practice of Consumer Protection and Antitrust Law. Among this year’s forty (40) host are Minnesota and Rhode Island, who will each host a Steiger Fellow for the first time, and again includes the National Association of Attorneys General and the Office of the Attorney General of the Government of the District of Columbia. We also welcome back the Attorney General’s Office of the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands and the Department of Justice of the Government of Puerto Rico.

This year’s recruitment activities are taking place during the fall semester. The application period is now open and will close October 25, 2019. The fellowship is open to both 1L and 2L students. Applicants who do not currently have all required materials, such as law school transcripts and writing samples, must submit them as soon as they become available.

Each selected student will receive a $6,000 stipend for the summer (administered through the fellowship site’s office and subject to certain federal taxes). In the event that a Steiger Fellow is not living at home during their fellowship, a limited travel/housing stipend allowance may be available.

The application and full details are available online at: http://AmBar.org/Steiger. Submission of all required materials must be sent via email to: ABASteigerFellowship@americanbar.org
